For the past month, I’ve been going to Gateway Kartplex every week to practice and get ready for the series. It’s been an intense but fun experience. I’ve spent countless hours on the track, working on my lap times and perfecting my technique. Every day, I pushed myself to get better, and couldn’t really see my lap time improve. The best lap to date was when I was racing against this other guy. He was around my age and said he plays Assetto Corsa on the SIM. I will admit, he was pretty good. In one of the races between me and him, I let him pass me and then I started following his line. Even though I skid out on that lap, I still beat him by a couple milli-seconds. That was my best time. Somehow I have to figure out how to replicate that in all my races. Figuring out what approach to take sometimes is the hardest part.
One of my main goals for this karting series is to get my first podium finish. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m determined to give it my all. I’ve been working hard on my racing strategy, focusing on my cornering and acceleration, and making sure I’m mentally prepared for the competition. I’ve also been paying close attention to the track layout and studying the best racing lines to take during the races.
